The System Lords Rules and Guidelines

About Us

The System Lords was established in early September of 2006. The sole purpose of this guild was to create an environment in which players can level, quest, PvP, and raid with a laid back yet goal-oriented atmosphere. Everyone is welcome to join The System Lords and we do not discriminate against any of our members based on age, race, gender, sexual orientation or even play-style and hobbies. The average age group within the guild is 18-25 with a few exceptions. Recently the guild has become end-game oriented with much more focus on raiding. Due to the nature of our recent growth rank advancement is now based on raid attendance and participation rather than requirements. Members within The System Lords are very generous and kind to one another and offer to help whenever they can spare the time. We look forward to conquering all end-game content while having a great time and laughing the whole way.

Code of Conduct

During the early beginnings of the guild there were only two rules to follow. Rule number one was “No douchebaggery”. Douchebaggery can be defined as anything from spamming to being just plain obnoxious. The second rule was “Have fun”. While the two rule system was effective during our growth period, each individual seems to have their own definition as to what constitutes douchebaggery, and as such the definition will be clarified with a newer, more concrete set of behavior protocols.

1. No offensive language in guild chat.
2. No spamming of guild chat.
3. All problems with other guild members are to be taken to an officer, not fought publicly in guild chat for all to see.
4. No making fun of other guild members based on religious beliefs, gender, sexual orientation, political beliefs or race. (This is not tolerated)
5. Do not make sexual advances or references to other members if they find such joking to be unsettling or discomforting. (This is not tolerated)
6. Adhere to all loot rules.
7. All rules apply to Ventrilo as well. There is a channel for offensive language if one does desire to express themselves in such a manner.

As System Lords, all members are expected to behave in a manner befitting their guild tag both within the guild and when questing with other players. Offensive behavior reflects both on the player, and the entire guild. In The System Lords there is a “Three Strike Rule”. Violating one of the rules is constitutes a strike and will merit a warning from an officer. Two strikes will give an ultimatum. Three strikes will mean a tribunal of three officers discussing a player’s behavior and their reason for being removed from the guild. Any reports from players outside of the guild about a members negative behavior result in immediate investigation and count as two strikes against that member. All strikes can be appealed to an officer tribunal. In the end the Guildmaster has the authority to overturn strikes.

The System Lords Assistance Policy

In The System Lords, assistance is readily available to many members. However, assistance is also based on the availability of its members and each individual player’s own drive to excel. If a player asks for help more than twice in guild chat after their request has been addressed, it is considered spam. Other players cannot expect guild members in a raid or an instance to stop their own advancement and their enjoyment to help another with a quest that can be done on ones own, or done with a pick-up group. A player’s level of interaction with other guild members plays a factor in the assistance process as well. Simply stated, if a player does not participate, they will not be top priority for assistance.
